Privacy policy

2. Summary

• You can use Savelio without an account and without giving us any personal data.
• We do not use advertising, tracking cookies or third-party analytics services.
• Our visitor statistics work without cookies and without storing IP addresses.
• When you follow a link to a store, the store and, where applicable, an affiliate network process your data under their own privacy policies.

3. Hosting

The website runs on servers in Germany provided by GMhostGrupp OÜ, Peterburi tee 47, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia. The provider processes data on our behalf in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. All parts of the service, including the database, run on these servers.

4. Server log files

Each time a page is requested, the web server records the IP address, date and time, requested address, referring page, browser identification (user agent) and response status. We need this to deliver the website, keep it secure and investigate errors and attacks (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and working service).

The log files are rotated: each service keeps at most a few files of limited size, and older entries are overwritten automatically, usually within a few days.

5. Visitor statistics without cookies

To understand how Savelio is used, we count page views ourselves, without external services. For each page view we store the page address, the interface language, the country site, the referring website (only if it is another website), the device type and the browser family.

To count visitors per day, a pseudonymous identifier is calculated from the IP address and the browser identification together with a secret key that changes every day. The IP address itself is not stored, and the identifier cannot be linked to the same visitor on another day.

If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, no page views are recorded. Automated visitors (bots) are not counted. The data is deleted after 13 months. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in improving the service.

6. Searches

Search terms entered in the catalogue are stored together with the country site and the number of results, without any link to a person, so that we can see which products are missing. They are deleted after 13 months.

7. Links to stores

When you follow a link to a store, we record the time, the product, the store, the price, a shortened IP address (the last part is removed), the browser identification and the referring page. We need this to settle accounts with partners and to detect abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). After 13 months the shortened IP address, browser identification and referring page are deleted; only the count of the click remains.

You are then redirected to the store. The store and, where applicable, an affiliate network may set cookies there to attribute a purchase to Savelio. This is their responsibility; please see their privacy policies.

8. Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed to show the website the way you chose:

• shopping_lang: the interface language, stored for one year.
• shopping_currency: the chosen currency on a country site, stored for one year.

9. Images from other providers

Product images are loaded directly from the servers of Open Food Facts (France), and store logos from GitHub (GitHub, Inc., USA). Your browser connects to these servers and transmits your IP address to them; for logos from GitHub this may involve a transfer to the USA. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in showing products and stores recognisably.

We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
